Day 3 Game 1 K-W-R-L, WA (0) vs. Albany, MN (8)

Ethan Navratil started the scoring early for Albany as he tripled into the right field corner to plate 2 runs, then scored on a wild pitch. Carter Thelen added another run in the 1st inning with an RBI groundout. Navarati tripled again in the 3rd inning for 2 more RBI’s. Nolan Rueter added an RBI double and later scored on a throwing error to make the game 8-0 after 3. Derek Kroop held Albany scoreless for the rest of the game but KWRL wasn’t to put any runs on the board.

Day 3 Game 2 Mifflin County, PA (13) vs. Torrance, CA (4)

Mifflin County pounced on Torrance early scoring 2 in the 1st inning. Casey Connor started the scoring with an RBI single. In the 2nd inning Cole Schlegel doubled to left center and that chased Torrance’s starting pitcher, Ben Medrano. Ethan Eichhorn, Casey Conner and Brycen Hassinger kept the runs coming in with an RBI singles and Mifflin County built an 8-0 lead after 2. They added 4 more runs in the 4th inning. Just as you thought the game was over Torrance fought and scratched to put 4 runs on the board in the 5th inning to prevent the mercy rule. It was to little too late as Mufflin County won 13-4. The game was also interrupted by two rain delays.

Day 3 Game 3 Kelso, WA (11) vs. Concord, NH (3)

Kelso started out hot scoring runs on a sac fly from Masyn Allison and a 2 run single into left field from Seth Volesky. Kelso continued the scoring by added 2 more runs in the 2nd inning on a Nick Miller RBI groundout and a throwing error from Concord. Concord battled back in the 3rd inning scoring 2 runs of their own on a fly ball from Mike Stoddard that somehow found the turf and a fielder’s choice from Trevor Smith. Nate Lonner added to Kelso’s lead with a bases loaded 2 run single to center field. Concord continue to battle and got 1 run back in the 5th inning with an RBI groundout from Tyler Wright. Kelso stretched their lead to 11-3 by scoring 3 runs in the 6th inning and 1 in the 7th inning.

Concord: Ryan Kastle (LF) 1-3, a couple nice play in the OF 

 

Day 3 Game 4 Longview, WA (7) vs. New Castle, IN (2)

Longview opened up the scoring in the 1st inning on an RBI single from Cole Hopper. New Castle stormed right back in the 2nd inning taking the lead. Aaron Reagan hit a line drive into center that was almost caught by a diving Chane Cothren. That plated 1 run and the next run came on a Robert Porter RBI groundout. Longview regained the lead right back in the 3rd inning with RBI singles from Jordan Kangas, Tristian Warden and Cole Hooper. Brody Carlson added to Longview’s lead with an RBI single then later scored on a wild pitch making it a 7-2 ballgame after 6 innings. New Castle had their chances in the last 2 innings but came up empty.
