Day 2 Game 1 New Castle, IN (13) vs. K-W-R-L, WA (3)

KWRL took the early in the 1st inning by scoring 2 runs, an RBI groundout from Aidan Hundt and an RBI bloop single from Devyn Turner. They held onto the lead until the bats of New Castle woke up in the 3rd inning. They put 5 runs on the board starting with a bases loaded 2 run double from Jarod Stevens. No quit from the KWRL boys as they get 1 run back on a sac fly from Hundt his second RBI of the game. New Castle adds 2 more runs in the 5th inning on Stevens single giving him 3 RBI’s for the day and an Aaron Reagan sac fly. New Castle exploded for 6 runs in the 6th inning to build a 10 run lead and shut down KWRL in the bottom of the inning to end the game.

All the scoring for this game was done in the first 2 innings and Tallahassee scored first with an RBI single from Ethan Miller and a Will Brown RBI single. Mifflin County came right back with 2 runs of their own on a Jaxson Pupo 2 run single. The winning run came in the 2nd inning on an Ethan Eichhorn RBI single into left field. Tallahassee had a few chances to tie or take the lead including having the tying run on 3rd base with no outs in the 7th inning but couldn’t cash in.

Day 2 Game 3 Denver City, TX (0) vs. Longview, WA (1)

This was the best game of the day in my opinion. It was well played, well pitched, well coached from both teams. Longview had 2 runners on with no outs in the 3rd inning but Jose Nunez of Denver City kept anyone from crossing the plate. Longview finally broke up the scoreless tie on a Brody Carlson RBI single in the 5th inning. That was all that was needed because Westin Scheurich was nails all game long.

Players of the Game

Denver City: Jose Nunez (P) 4 1/3 innings, 3 K’s

Longview: Westin Scheurich (P) CG Shutout, 5 K’s

Kelso came right back and took the lead by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Tommy Brandenburg tied it up with 2 run single and Masyn Allison gave them the lead with a 2 run double. Torrance battled right back as Joseph Tena doubled to right center to cut Kelso’s lead in half. Kacius tied it up with an RBI single. Torrance blew the game wide open by scoring 4 in the 6th inning and 3 in the 7th inning. Kelso didn’t show any quit though, as they scratched out 1 run in the 6th and 2 in the 7th.
