Just before Christmas I got the opportunity to cover an event put on by BaseByPros. Major League players from the Seattle area came to interact with fans and to raise money for a organization called Consider the Lily. Included in this event was Steven Souza Jr who was the key person for selecting Consider the Lily.
I could tell you all of his stats here but instead I just want to say that in the few hours I saw him interacting with kids and parents, and from the time I got to talk with him, it was clear that Steven is not just a great ball player but also an awesome man. Regardless of how he does on the field I can tell you that he will be one of my favorite players. I will cheer for him no matter what team he plays for, even the Yankees.
