Clayton Kershaw announced he underwent a surgical procedure to repair the gleno-humeral ligaments and capsule of his left shoulder. He’s hopeful to play at some point next summer.

The Guardians announced they hired Stephen Vogt as the 45^th manager in franchise history. Vogt had a 10-year career spending 6 of those years in Oakland, where he was an All-Star in 2015 and 2016.

The Mets announced they hired Carlos Mendoza as their newest manager. He was spent the last 18 years in the Yankees organization.

The Cubs hired Craig Counsell as their newest manager. He has been the Brewers manager for the last 9 seasons. Counsell had a 16-year career and won 2 World Series in 1997 and 2001. In 2001 he was the NLCS MVP.

The Dbacks have signed manager Torey Lovullo to a contract extension that will keep him in Arizona through the 2026 season.

The Angels have hired Ron Washington as their newest manager. Washington last managed the Rangers from 2007-14 leading them to 2 AL Pennants. He’s been the Braves third base coach since 2017.
