Tommy Lasorda passed away at the age of 93. He managed the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1976 to 1996. He led the Dodgers to 4 NL Pennants and 2 World Series Championships, 1981 and 1988. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. Lasorda managed Team USA to the gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
Spring Training for players at Double-A and below will not begin until after MLB and Triple-A players have departed from camps. So, the 2021 minor league season at Double-A and below will have a delayed start.
Japanese RHP Tomoyuki did not come to an agreement with any MLB team. He will return to the Yomiuri Giants but will be able to return to the MLB market again over the next few winters as he has 3 opt-outs in his Yomiuri deal.
