Day 8 Championship Game Broomall-Newtown, PA (12) vs. Lumber River, NC (3)
Lumber River started off hot scoring two runs in the 1st, on a McKinley Strickland RBI double and Strickland later scored on a fielder’s choice.
Broomall came right back in the 2nd scoring a run on an error. Lumber got that run back in the 2nd on a Chay Locklear RBI single. That would be all the runs Lumber River could plate.
Broomall exploded from four in the 3rd and three in the 4th. Broomall put the game out of reach in the 6th inning by scoring four runs making it a 12-3 game. That’s where the game would end and Broomall-Newtown, PA is the 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series Champions. Congrats to both teams on a well fought and hard played tourney. Win or lose both teams should be proud of how they played.
Broomall: Cameron Mathes went 4-5 with 2 runs and a RBI.
Lumber River: McKinley Strickland went 2-3 with a RBI double and a run scored.
