Could you imagine what it would be like if the Los Angeles Dodgers made it to the World Series and the team that they would face off against would be the Houston Astros. I can already hear the fans in Dodger Stadium and let me tell you it isn’t nice polite comments coming from the stands.
Honestly at the start of the season I didn’t really see this as much of a possibility. The Astros were not a team that I felt was going to compete for a World Series title, and as for the Dodgers, even though their team is very talented the difficulty of getting back to the World Series is extremely hard.
Now though, things are looking like this potential matchup is more than just a wishful dream. The Dodgers and Astros are now being seen as the top two favorites for winning the World Series in 2021.
I’ll be honest, just thinking about these two teams facing off in the World Series gets me so excited. The World Series is always full of passion and intensity but imagine just how on edge both teams would be with the Dodgers looking to not only repeat as champions but with the chance to show the baseball world that they should have been the champions the first time these two matched up.
For the Astros this would be their greatest chance at showing the world that they were a legit champion. Now let’s be honest, many fans (including myself) will never see their championship as a legitimate one, but beating the Dodgers in the 2021 World Series would sway a lot of people.
In the end is this the matchup I am rooting for? No it is not, but that doesn’t mean I’m opposed to it.
