By Josh:

I’ve been debating since Christmas time what I wanted to write in this post. I finally realized this past weekend that in order to write this for the 9 Inning Know It All site I had to include what was in store for my own life.

A Little Back Story

For almost eight years 9 Inning Know It All has been a fun part of my life. Through some challenging times the people that I have met have unknowingly helped me in more ways than I can express.

In August of 2018 I chose to resign from my job and both work from home and be a stay at home dad. I had been a manager over two county’s Mental Health Crisis departments, and although the work my teams did was amazing, it took a toll on me that I was not prepared for.

When I resigned from my position I was seriously debating shutting down 9 Inning Know It All.  Even to this day I sometimes wonder why I spend countless hours going to so many games, but then someone will say something that reminds me that even though I don’t always see it, I am making an impact for the game of baseball and softball in one way or another.

Here We Are

9 Inning Know It All was a hobby that has grown into something far more than I honestly expected. Over 40,000 people are subscribed to 9 Inning Know It All. I’ve got a box of press passes ranging from colleges, minor league teams, Babe Ruth World Series events, recruiting tournaments and much more.

I’ve talked in the past about wanting to do more, to extend the reach and impact of 9 Inning Know It All.  That hasn’t changed. I want to continue to do more for local teams and leagues but also find ways to impact additional communities.

Taking photos at games and making those photos available for players, parents and fans has been something that I have enjoyed doing and hope to do even more this year.  Most of my game photographing has been done in Longview (Lower Columbia College baseball and softball and Cowlitz Black Bears) but I plan to go to more locations. Already I have been trying to make it to Centralia College games/events and hope to find even more teams that would be open to have me visit.

Along with photos I’ve really enjoyed doing interviews with both established players and young players hoping to play at the next level, whether that is a 2 yr college, 4 yr college or in the pros. This, like the photos, I hope to expand on the number of teams and areas that I find players.

The Big Goal

I want to really connect and unite the 9 Inning Know It All empire. I would love to get followers on Facebook and Twitter to come out and meet at games and talk baseball. There are few things more enjoyable than sitting down and hearing fellow fans talk about why they fell in love with the game of baseball.

I would also love to see more people write guest posts for us. The What Baseball Means to Me series started by Kelly is easily my favorite articles that we post.  If you haven’t written a guest post for us and want to, or know someone who would want to please contact us and let us know.

The biggest goal I have for 2019 and the site is to just have fun. Sometimes I get too caught up in trying to do things that I forget to have fun.

Thank You
