I know this milestone isn’t nearly as exciting as hitting 100,000 views but it is still something that I’m proud of. One reason why I like to do posts like this is because I can look back when this blog hits post #300, #400, #1000 and beyond and I can see just how far we have come.
Looking back at the first 199 posts here are the highlights/my favorites which include everything from full posts to quotes that I can’t help but enjoy. I will also include a few links to my favorite 9 Inning Baseball Talk radio shows.
My favorite blog post I’ve ever written is still….
It is rare to write a post that makes me smile even a year after I’ve written it but my blog post on the Most Under Appreciated Job in Baseball does just that. I’ve known a few people who were mascots and they have confirmed that what I wrote was right on the money. Check it out for yourself.

My favorite blog post written by one of the other writers is …..
This is actually really hard because there have been some really good ones. Norm’s two interviews with Carl Erskine are still posts that I enjoy going back and reading every once in a while.

Kelly had a great post a few weeks ago that touched on how baseball helped him through a lot of things when he was growing up. One of the reasons why I love baseball so much is because of the impact it can have on lives so this post easily is one of my favorites.

Mike’s posts on why baseball should learn from the NFL has been one that has raised some pretty good discussions in a few different locations. That alone makes it a favorite of mine but since Mike also discusses how crazy it is to have the World Series played in open air stadiums that could have snow during the World Series. Baseball owners need to think about things a little bit more.
Scott’s first post with the 9 Inning Empire has stuck out to me as being fun because I’ve seen what it’s like in the press box. For three seasons I’ve sat in that room hearing all of the grief he gets from us about calls he makes and it is hilarious to have him start writing about it. I know that Scott has a lot more posts coming about what goes on in the press box and don’t be surprised if a certain P.A. announcer is mentioned more than a few times.

My favorite quote…..
This one was by far the easiest to pick out because I love this quote. Cody Decker did an interview with Norm a few weeks ago and after being asked “Who were your influences growing up” he had this response.
“Personal influences: Reggie Smith, me mum: Terri Decker, and Batman. Professional Influences: Eric Karros, Mike Piazza, Nomar Garciaparra, Shawn Green, Paul Lo Duca, and Batman.”
Then a few days after we posted the article Cody had a tweet that said “You should always be yourself unless you can be Batman. Then you should be Batman.”

My favorite radio shows…
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the radio show that has me, Norm and Kelly on you are missing out, but don’t worry I’ve selected my three favorite shows that we have done so far.

I hope that the previous 199 posts have been fun for all baseball fans to read. It has been a fun journey that we hope continues to reach no heights in the future. Check back regularly because there is the chance that the 9 Inning Empire is going to add a college correspondent.
