For the readers that don’t know me personally, my wife and I are expecting our first child any day now, and in preparation for that I decided that I needed
to get a bag specifically designed for a dad with my hobbies and interests. Now I know what you are thinking, “What does this have to do with baseball?” Well let me tell you and show you what this has to do with baseball.
As a future dad I needed a bag that could carry bottles, hold multiple changes of clothes, carry wet and stinky clothes, and a ton of other miscellaneous stuff. The bag I choose can do all of that plus some. It has two specially designed ‘bottle holders’, one large pocket for a multitude of items, a smaller pocket to hold specific items, a ‘wet diaper/clothes’ pocket and a few smaller pockets for the little items.
As an autograph enthusiast I needed a bag that could carry a couple of bats, hold my autograph books, hold a few boxes of cards and at least a half dozen baseballs. The bag had to be something that I could get into quick and find exactly what I needed.
Now let me be honest with you this bag was not designed to be used as a dad bag, but through my creativity and intelligence I have taken this bag and turned it into the ultimate dad bag.
After looking at multiple baseball bags at Sports Authority it became very evident that the best overall bag (looking at the number of pockets, the comfort of the bag and the overall look) was easily the Demarini bag that you see in the pictures. The bat slots work perfect for loading up to bats for autographs or for two bottles that need to be carried around with out the chance of anything spilling. The main big pocket can easily fit a few boxes of baseball cards or a ton of baby clothes. The smaller pocket fits a few autograph books or a stack of diapers. Even the pocket designed for shoes work perfectly for wet clothes or for a case of baby wipes.
Now I’m not saying every dad needs a bag like this, but I wouldn’t argue against any dad who sees this as a great investment into the life of their child and the enhancement of their autograph seeking. It is items like this that make me both really excited about being a dad, and super very ready to get back into the baseball autograph season.
