I don’t know about everyone else but I can’t believe that it is already 2014. Where did the year go?

Well anyways here is my recap of the year and maybe even a little bit of what is to come from the 9 Inning Empire.

Games Attended

Although I didn’t match my total number of games attended from 2012 (56 games), I still am proud that I was able to make it to right around 50 games this season.  Games included a lot of fun college baseball with Corban University and Oregon State University.

It was also great to make my first ever trip to the Arizona Fall League.  Getting to watch 8 games in a four day span is both fun and very exhausting. I can honestly say that a fifth day of games would have been too much for me.

Also on my first time list was attending a game at the brand new Hillsboro Hops stadium.  An amazing stadium that made me feel like I was in Arizona watching a spring training game. The stadium is great and if you didn’t make it out this year you need to plan a trip next year to check it out.

Best Moment

Being in the stands as the Corvallis Knights won the WCL championship was easily my favorite baseball moment of the year.  Watching Knights’ games is fun to begin with but to be a part of the excitement in the stands and to watch the celebration as the final out was made was great.

Check out the final three outs of their championship.

The Bad

It is hard to find anything bad about watching baseball games but being at a game when it is 102 degrees outside and there isn’t shade is pretty bad. It is the first time that I’ve wanted to leave a game before my wife even mentioned she was ready to go.

As I’m sure all of you know the 9 Inning Empire already has shirts, sweatshirts and bags available but did you know we are looking into blankets, beanies and even cozies for drinks?  Yup that is right we are adding more merchandise options for everyone to enjoy.

Kelly and I will be in Arizona the second week of March to watch spring training games. So if you see people wearing 9 Inning Know It All gear it might just be us.

Baseball, baseball and more baseball. We plan on doing more interviews, bringing you more stadium reviews, scouting reports of top prospects and anything else we can figure out that is fun and baseball centered.
