With the Hillsboro Hops getting ready for their first season in a new city they have started a blog and I wanted to give a shout out to them and encourage everyone to go check it out. I can tell you right now that as the 2013 season draws closer there will be a lot…
Let me begin by making it very clear to everyone the Giants are not my favorite team. In fact they are more like 5th on my favorite teams list and they are only that high because I’ve had the opportunity to meet players both on the major league team as well as getting to know…
In March of 2011 I had the opportunity to go to Scottsdale, AZ and interview a number of former Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. The Giants had just won the World Series and getting to hear how things had changed for the players during the offseason was fun. However, there was one former Salem-Keizer Volcanoe’s player who wasn’t…

By Norm: Favorite Ballparks continued from last week… So what makes a great stadium? Sight lines? Easy access to the ball players? Promotions? Great food? I say all the above. When I first started going to Salem/Keizer Volcanoes games they had all that. Over the years they have stopped doing a lot of stuff. But,…
