What areas of your game have been focusing on lately to improve upon for the 2026 season?

I’ve been putting a lot of work into speed and agility this off-season, focusing on explosiveness and fast-twitch, while continuing to build strength. As a leadoff hitter, my job is to get on base, steal bags, and put pressure on pitchers.

I also hit as much as I can outside of school practice. Most weekend nights after work, I’m back in the facility getting extra reps and sharpening my approach.

What are some goals you hope to reach in the next year or couple of years?

My main goal is to keep playing this game after high school in whatever capacity I can. I love baseball more than anything, and I’m willing to put in the work to keep it going as long as possible. I work hard every day to improve. This game is so challenging. That’s why I love it.

How long have you been playing baseball and what got you started in the game?

I started playing baseball in third or fourth grade, along with basketball. It wasn’t until sixth or seventh grade that a coach really believed in me and wanted me on his team. I was one of the smaller kids and most of my teammates were a lot bigger, but he gave me the confidence to compete.

I actually started out as a catcher and played there for four or five years. That position taught me a lot about the ups and downs of the game. It built toughness and grit, and it forced me to understand situations and stay locked in every pitch. Catching made me aware of everything happening on the field and how fast the game really moves when the ball is in play.

I’m a SS/OF now, but I still carry that awareness and edge with me every time I step on the field.

What are some of your favorite things about the game of baseball?

I love the competing side of baseball and how hard you have to compete to be successful. There are a lot of talented players out there, so I’m always working to find ways to separate myself and stand out. I discovered that speed is one of my biggest strengths, and I try to use it to my advantage every chance I get.

I love how hard the game is. It forces you to think, adjust, and stay locked in. To me, baseball is like athletic chess. Every pitch matters, and the smallest details can change everything.

Who in your life has helped push you to be your best on the field?

Definitely my Dad. He’s had the biggest impact on me as a player and as a person. He’s always pushed me to compete, stay disciplined, and not cut corners. He holds me accountable, but he also believes in me and reminds me to enjoy the process.

He was a sponsored skateboarder back in the day, so even though he doesn’t know every detail about baseball, he understands what it takes as an athlete to reach the next level. He knows the work, the sacrifice, and the mindset it requires and brings that perspective into everything we do.

Is there anything else about baseball you want to include?

The only thing I want to add is that I’m constantly looking to improve and get better, and hope to play the game as long as possible. And after I can no longer play, I’d probably like to coach at some capacity.

Game highlights and video:

I started documenting my off-season work and made a Youtube playlist with all those highlights. My spring highlights are at the bottom of the link. I’ve probably grown about five inches since last spring/summer! I’ve been enjoying making this playlist as it’s been a good documentation of the process. I will continue to update this playlist through the spring and summer. Here is the link: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE5grPMHoJ6SQjND6cWGABX_MaVcxNPEc&si=VMUk-IDjr6svJAV0
