A starting pitcher is the one position that has the most influence as to an outcome of a game in baseball. A bad outing for a starter puts their team in a whole right away. A strong outing can ease the pressure off of an offense. If a team knows that three runs is enough to get a win with a starter it changes the approach to the game.
Kade Kryzsko, starting pitcher for Lower Columbia, is one of those starting pitchers that can ease the pressure for his offense. His teammates know that when he steps on the mound he is going to go after the opposing team, and if he is on his game, will be able to limit the opposing teams effectiveness.
