Every member of a team is called upon to do a job to help the team win. Each job is different but still important to the success of a team. Players who step into a job and are successful get the tag of being clutch. Whether it is a reliever closing the door on an opposing team, a pinch hitter getting a hit, or a defensive sub making a great play, winning happens when players step up when needed.
‘Clutch’ players are often successful because they know themselves and their game well enough to know how to succeed. Rory Graf-Brennen, outfielder for Lower Columbia, is a player who knows his strengths and abilities and is able to come in when called upon and accomplish the job needed for his team. He gets the label of clutch, but that only comes from hard work and preparation.
