AL WILD CARD
My predictions at the beginning of the year I had the Oakland A’s making it to the ALCS but they had a huge melt down and barely backed into the 2nd Wild Card spot. After saying that, I think Oakland beats the Royals and only because they have Jon Lester starting. I’m thrilled for Royal fans and even though I picked against them I will be rooting for them.
NL WILD CARD
Just looking at the teams Giants vs. Pirates sounds like a good game but then looking at the starting pitchers Bumgarner vs. Volquez makes it a little less interesting. Giants win. (Yuck, I hate saying that)
ALDS 1 vs 4
A’s waste Jon Lester is the Wild Card game but I still think they have a better rotation then the Angels. I’m torn on this series. The Angels offense is so potent. I am looking forward to seeing Mike Trout in the playoffs. I will pick the Angels in 4 or 5 games but I think whoever wins Game 1 wins the series.
ALDS 2 vs 3
Orioles vs. Tigers. Wow another tough one. Orioles offense, scary good bullpen and maybe the best manager in the game right now in Showalter, against the Tigers starting pitchers Scherzer, Price, Verlander and all that experience, plus Cabrera of course. Let’s go with the Orioles.
NLDS 1 vs 4
Nationals are one of the hottest teams in baseball and they take care of the Giants in 4 games.
NLDS 2 vs 3
Dodgers get a chance to get some revenge on the Cardinals for last year’s NLCS. Dodgers need to win Game 1 with Kershaw pitching. Cardinals aren’t quite as good as last year but still scare the crap out of me. Dodgers win in 4 games as long as they win Game 1. If they lose Game 1 they are going to have to win it in 5 games.
ALCS
Angels vs. Orioles. I can’t explain why I keep picking the Angels but they win this series with Mike Trout carrying the load and winning the ALCS MVP.
NLCS
Dodgers vs. Nationals. What do the Dodgers do best? That would be braking my heart in the NLCS. Well that all ends this year. Dodgers top the red hot Nationals with Carl Crawford winning the NLCS MVP.
WORLD SERIES
Dodgers vs. Angels. The Freeway World Series. Anyone that knows me knows I will not pick the Angels to beat my Dodgers in the World Series and they would be right. Dodgers beat the Angels in either Game 4, 5, 6, or 7 to win the World Series. Why you ask? Here’s why, Dodgers starting pitching plain and simple. Angels’ offense is probably slightly better than the Dodgers and the Angels bullpen is definitely better but the Dodgers have a better bench. The Dodgers starting pitching will carry them.
I also believe the 2 teams should make a small wager on the Series. Winner gets to keep the Los Angeles in their team name.
One last thing, if the Dodgers and Angels do make the World Series and the Angels happen to win, please stay away from me for a few days because I will be in bed eating cake and watching That 70’s Show to help console myself.
