Ron Cey played 3rd base for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and the Oakland A’s. He is a six time all-star and was the 1981 World Series MVP.
Mr. Cey thanks for taking the time.
What was the highlight of your career?
Winning the World Series.
You played in four World Series, what was that experience like? And how was if different each time?
Playing for the Dodgers was truly a privilege.
Being able to carry the History and Tradition forward was everything one could ask for.
It became a familiar place for us to be.
It was expected of us and we demanded it.
Things became more manageable each time we returned to the World Series.
It wasn’t any less difficult however.
What are you doing these days?
I have worked for the Dodgers for the past 15 yrs.
I wear many hats covering many departments (sponsorship-marketing-community affairs-public relations-special events-corporate entertainment).
What advice would you give a young ballplayer?
Respect the game!
Work hard play hard.
Give yourself every opportunity to succeed.
Be the best you can be.
Mr. Cey, I hope this works for you. It’s been an honor.
