For the 9 Inning Empire a lot has occurred in the month of February. I (Josh) got a whole year older. We hit 100,000 views. Most importantly though is the fact that baseball has returned. Both Norm and I were able to attend our first baseball games of the year (you can see photos here) and even though it was cold, it was still a lot of fun because baseball is still baseball.
In case you missed some of our posts that came out in February here are some of my favorites.
Kelly’s Posts
As baseball fans there is always a memory in our lives that pushed us to become more than just a fan of the game, but to fall in love with the game. Kelly writes a great piece about his baseball journey and how it has affected him and his family.
Over the months that Norm has been writing for the blog he has had some great posts but nothing he has done even compares to two of the most amazing interviews I have ever read. If you haven’t taken the time to read both parts to the Carl Erskine interviews then you are missing out on true baseball history. Each of these interviews are simply amazing and I am proud to have them on this website.
Mike’s Posts
Even though the Super Bowl seems like it was ages ago, Mike’s post on what baseball can learn from the NFL still stands out as being one of the more thought provoking posts up on the 9 Inning blog.
Super bowl Wrap Up: Domes, Purists, and why Football Matters to the Business of Baseball
Josh’s Posts
Even though the most exciting post for me to write this month was the announcement that we had received 100,000 views, my favorite post by far is the rewrite of a post that I used almost 2 years ago. Why Baseball is a simple post about why I feel that baseball is important, but to me it is a message that I want others to hear.
Looking at March
As baseball continues to build to opening day the 9 Inning crew is getting more and more excited. We are planning trips to games up and down the I-5 corridor. Even though we are hoping to break into the top 10 for MLB Fan blogs in the month of February, we are honestly more concerned with seeing baseball and having fun writing about it.
Thank you to everyone who reads this blog and stay tuned as we continue to find new ways to grow.
