For as long as I can remember baseball has been a passion of mine. I think I have more photos of me playing baseball or at baseball games then all my other photos combined. I’ve been playing for over 20 years, coached for six years, and have enjoyed watching hundreds if not thousands of games. So please understand when I say I love baseball, its not something I just randomly throw out there.
Baseball is a unique sport. It is both an individuals sport as well as a team sport. Every at bat puts the pitcher and the batter against each other in a one on one battle. A game can be won or lost simply on the actions of those two players. However, it is still a team sport where others are needed to perform so that the team can win.
I know many people feel that baseball is too slow of a sport but I would argue that this is a part of the charm of baseball. It is not rushed like football or basketball but instead plays at its own pace. Baseball games are an opportunity to spend time with friends, be a part of a crowed supporting a team, and a time to enjoy a fun night in the summer time.
Check back in later for more of my thoughts on baseball in the Northwest and across the country.
