Al Kaline (Mr.Tiger) welcomes two new Tigers into the Hall of Fame.

Jack Morris and Alan Trammell both elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame via the Modern Era Committee. They are the first living players elected by a form of a veterans committee since Bill Mazeroski in 2001. Morris spent 14 of 18 years with the Tigers and Trammell played his entire 20-year career in Detroit.

Results of the Modern Baseball Era Ballot (12 votes needed for election): Jack Morris 14 votes), Alan Trammell (13 votes), Ted Simmons (11 votes), Marvin Miller (7 votes), Steve Garvey, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker and Luis Tiant each received fewer than seven votes.



The Cubs have signed RHP Brandon Morrow to a 2 year/$21 million contract with a $12 million vesting option for 2020.

The Cardinals have signed RHP Luke Gregerson to a 2 year/$11 million contract with a vesting option for 2020.

The Rangers have signed RHP Chris Martin to a 2 year/$4 million contract.

The Phillies have signed RHP Pat Neshek to a 2 year/$16.25 million contract with a club option.

The Rays have acquired 2B Joey Wendle from the A’s. The A’s will receive a PTBNL.



The Red Sox are interested in Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber.

The White Sox 1B Jose Abreu and OF Avisail Garcia are being mentioned in trade talks. Garcia more likely to be traded.

The Giants will reportedly pursue free agent 3B Mike Moustakas.

The Mets have interest in Pirates INF Josh Harrison.

The Angels have spoken to LHP CC Sabathia.

The Indians have made a contract offer to 1B Carlos Santana.

The A’s continue to have interest in Cardinals OF Stephen Piscotty.

The Mets are now reportedly willing to trade RHP Matt Harvey.

At least six teams are seriously interested in RHP Tom Koehler.

The Red Sox have let teams know that OF Jackie Bradley Jr. is available in their pursuit of a power bat.

The Indians, Royals and Nationals have all inquired on 1B Matt Adams.

Will Marcell Ozuna be the next Marlin traded?

The market for Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is starting to bulid, 6-8 teams are interested.

The Astros are considering pursuit of top free agent starters, RHP Yu Darvish, and RHP Jake Arrieta or possible trade targets such as RHP Chris Archer.

The Royals have let teams know that RHP Joakim Soria is available.

The Mets and Rangers are in trade discussions, players involved could be RHP Matt Harvey and INF Jurickson Profar.

The Pirates are willing to listen to offers for RHP Gerrit Cole.
