Catchers naturally have a different mentality then other position players. Some say they are a little crazy. A certain mentality is definitely needed to catch. A lot of great managers developed their knowledge of the game by playing catcher, because that position allowed them to see and understand situations in a game that other players couldn’t. They are constant learners of the game.
