Day 2 Game 1 Schererville, IN (5) vs. Torrance, CA (6)
The day off yesterday didn’t hurt Torrance at all because they scored two runs in the 1st on a two run single from Aaron Orozco. Schererville came right back in the 2nd with a RBI single from Joseph Graziano and another run in the 3rd on a RBI ground out from Hunter Mihalic. Torrance then took over the game with two runs in the 3rd, one run in the 4th and one more in the 5th. Going into the 7th inning Torrance was up 6-2 but Schererville made a game of it putting up three in the 7th led by a RBI single from Ben Nisle. Schererville came up just short losing 6-5.
Day 2 Game 2 Lumber River, NC (11) vs. Woodinville, WA (5)
Both teams went scoreless in the 1st but that didn’t last long. Lumber scored three in the 2nd on a two run single from Cal Hunt and the third run scoring on an error. Woodinville battled right back with two runs. A RBI single from Henry Murphy and a RBI ground out from Joey Wick. Then Woodinville tied it at 3-3 in the 3rd, with an infield single from Jack Keller. Lumber River took control of the game with four runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Woodinville made it a little closer with two runs in the 6th but it was too late. Lumber River wins 11-5.
Day 2 Game 3 Tri-County, TX (10) vs. Longview, WA (0)
Longview was out of the game quick with Tri-County scoring a run in the 1st and 2nd. They added five in the 4th, two in the 5th and one in the 6th. Tri-County got their RBI’s from 8 different players with Andrew Dvorak leading the way with two. Longview only managed three hits and got tenrunned after 6 innings.
Day 2 Game 4 Broomall-Newtown (4) vs. Kelso, WA (0)
Broomall scored all their runs in two innings. Three runs came in the 4th, Woodcock with a RBI bunt single, Vince Sposato with a RBI groundout and RBI single from Corey Woodcock. There last run came in the 7th inning on a Scott Hahn RBI double. Kelso like Longview got shutout and will have to come back tomorrow and put some runs on the board.
