Josh’s Notes: For so many people who are a part of baseball there is a desire to pass on what we have learned and experienced in this sport to the younger generation. It is both a desire to help kids grow to be fans of the game as well as securing the fact that one of the greatest sports in the world continues to have a loyal fan base throughout the generations. Norm talks about a dream that he and a few of his friends shared and began to work on in McMinnville.

By Norm:

Years ago a couple of friends and I were sitting down at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville discussing the state of baseball in town. We started putting a plan together. We gave it a name The Beloved Bum Baseball Academy. We decided to name after the Brooklyn Dodgers of the 40’s-50’s. One of my friends even called his team The Bums. At one point we had an infield that the kids worked on and we had turned a greenhouse into a batting cage with 5 or 6 hitting stations. We were in the process of turning another greenhouse into a pitching area. The farm had sold and over time the dream has taken a backseat to other things.  Here is the plan for the Beloved Bums.
